This was my favorite Butcher novel so far. It is relentless, pushing the drama to the last page. There is lots of satisfaction in the tale, including major plot twists with Thomas and Anastasia, both of which will make Dresden's future life much more complicated. There are great magic battles and character deaths, after transformations that make them into real losses. All the standard characters excel. Harry, though, surprises again and again.

Great story and well told!

Another solid entry of the Dresden Files, with a high ratio of page-turning goodness. With every subsequent entry in the series, we find that the Black Council's influence is stronger than expected and has touched everything Harry's been involved in. In this book, Harry tries to get behind who killed a senior White Council member, trying to save one of his greatest enemies, because it's the right thing to do.

I reckon only people who actually enjoy the series would read as far as Turn Coat, and those who do won't be disappointed at all.
