I just loved it. I know it's not everyone's cuppa, but it's mine. This time, Jackson's story about investigating a client's parents in Leeds is interwoven with the story of a prostitute's murder in 1975. As usual in Jackson Brodie novels we have different PoV characters. It was a bit detective noir like, with chummy, corrupt policemen who are protecting their own, but also very human, with former policewoman Tracy who was on site at the murder back then randomly deciding to buy an abused child off a prostitute in the present, and then making a run for it.
There's also a dog. Jackson has a dog now.
TLDR: only pick up if you enjoyed the previous 3 books.
