Die einzelnen Bände der Throne of Glass Reihe wurden immer länger. Los ging es mit 403 Seiten und endete hier mit 992. Den Platz hat es aber auch gebraucht, die finale Konfrontation, wo es um nichts anderes als das Schicksal der gesamten Welt geht, ist nun mal kein Pappenstiel.

Die Zutaten zu so einer Fantasy-Saga sind zwar alle im Grunde bekannt und erwartbar, die gesamte Reihe und insbesondere dieser Abschlussband haben mich aber richtig in denn Bann gezogen. Das war ein Wechselbad der Gefühle zwischen Verzweiflung, Hoffnung und Erhabenheit. Insbesondere in der zweiten Hälfte des Buches war ich mehrfach zu Tränen gerührt.
