A new recording of the most widely read mystery of all time, performed by Kenneth Branagh. Now a major motion picture from Twentieth Century Fox, and directed by Kenneth Branagh. Just after midnight, the famous Orient Express is stopped in its tracks by a snowdrift. By morning, the millionaire Samuel Edward Ratchett lies dead in his compartment, stabbed a dozen times, his door locked from the inside. One of his fellow passengers must be the murderer.
I don't know why, but the urge to read this classic came to me. I read the book countless times as a child, but reading it as an adult (who knows the ending) was a different experience altogether. I guess in my memory the novel was better constructed, Poirot was more brilliant and the story took several days. But yay, nostalgia!
