Puh..... I mean it's fine and all. But very confusing. Not sure if I liked it. It felt like it was happening in the same universe, but not in the same storyline (which it is).

Content warning One major "twist" of the book is mentioned. Don't read if you don't want spoilers.
It really bugs me that Harrow has erased (?) her reality from book 1 and created a new one. These rewritten flashbacks, this Harrow-untypical vulnerable nature - all this is getting on my nerves so far. I hope that changes quickly.

This was the first time I read a book with such a strong military focus. I had a really hard time keeping the hierarchies straight at the beginning - who is above whom? But it didn't bother me in general and I really enjoyed the story and the characters. I am VERY sad that the sequel is not due until April 2024 (!). Nasty cliffhanger... :(
