I could not make it past the first chapter, it just felt too much like a cliched "paint-by-numbers" fantasy, except the numbers were dwarves, and the colours were also dwarves, and I'm pretty sure that the eventual picture would have also been a dwarf.

I read light, but broadly. Currently one of my favorite things is to dig up female sci-fi/fantasy authors from the 70s and 80s. Still trying to figure this bookwyrm thing out.
