@drewdiver I loved this trilogy. I read the first book, and I loved it, its fantasy elements and magic system are rich and immersive. I started reading the second book, but I did not like it, as it felt that it was falling too much into a "chosen person" trope. After some years, I picked it up again, and I am glad I did it.
The science-fiction elements start to pick up in the second book, and it gets even more interesting.
Overall, the story is great, but I think the third book is super rushed, there is hardly any exposition compared to the first one, and that left me feeling with a craving for more.
So, I think reading the first + second book, without reading the final one, is a good decision.
