Wading through a sea of bug juice and gore, I have now finished reading this crazy trip of a trilogy. Word of advice:
1. Don't read if you cannot stand gore. It's a gritty world, people do shitty things, and this book turns the gore up even more. It's a world where no one blinks when limbs are amputated.
2. Don't read if you are scared of bugs. I hate insects, this world was a fascinating nightmare for me.
3. Don't read if you need a lot of handholding by the author.
I guess the advice holds true for any of the books of the series, but I just had to write it down.
The grand finale is bloody, full of politicking and twists and turns I did not forsee, and I was glued to my seat reading this book, as the plot of all 3 books is tied together. …

The grand finale is bloody, full of politicking and twists and turns I did not forsee, and I was glued to my seat reading this book, as the plot of all 3 books is tied together. It's also kinda open-ended, leaving doors open for Nyxnissa, the toughest female character I might ever have experienced.
I enjoyed the series, but again, probably not for everyone.
