The book is divided into chapters for different management roles. Every chapter describes in a practical and pragmatic way the challenges that come with a role. Unfortunately some generic information about assessment, conflict handling, and culture is hidden in mutliple chapters. Therefore is it not enough to read a few chapters for your actual situation to get the whole picture. You have to get through every chapter to extract important information that is applicable to all management roles.

Not particularly mind blowing but it contains a few nuggets of information on how to navigate this career path, making it a must read for Individual Contributors going the Management route.

I particularly enjoyed the Team Lead definitions and role responsibilities as well as how nicely the author manages to clearly differentiate each role from the previous one.

Just finished reading “The Manager’s Path” by Camille Fournier. I saw myself (and my mistakes) in so many of the situations she describes and I think it leaves me more accepting of those mistakes instead of blaming myself and looking more towards doing better and learning from them.‬
‪I see why so many people praise this book so much. It really is that good.‬
