Review of 'Saga of the Swamp Thing Book Three' on 'GoodReads'
Quite frankly, I found this volume an insult to fans of the series.
From the get-go, it is obvious Alan Moore's desire to deliver the best Swamp Thing issue possible had been replaced with an urgent necessity to deliver a Swamp Thing issue in time for publication. The result is a stack of undercooked, disjointed, monotonously delivered ideas with next to no bearing on the overarching narrative, or character development.
Knees deep into Watchmen at the time, and a handful of other projects, it is well-known Moore barely had any time, energy, or enthusiasm left to give the green monstrosity the send off fans deserve. A swift and sweet ending to the series would have been the better course of action, but, sadly, we were left with this hollow, incoherent, verbose futuristic space odyssey instead.
