a good bit better than the second book

so it's a good read and worth it, but it would still take a bit more effort (and less repetition) to make it a great one.

This is really not a good book.

I actually did finish it and it wasn't written so bad that my head hurt, but there were soooo many logical errors and the overall story was just poorly constructed and completely obvious right from the start.

The "profiteers" (their' hat is doing everything for money) are absurdly shallow, of course the leader of the only remaining human force leads all efforts himself (from commanding his ship, to leading the attack and defense of both planets, trade-negotiations until stuff that really risks his life on enemy planets).
And of course he ends up with the only alien-chick that has even been mentioned in the whole story. No he never considers that she might be a spy, not even when he finds her right after beeing "unsuccessfully" attacked by his enemies (who did accomplish exactly what they wanted, as we were told before) - …

meh'

horrible writing, story somewhat missing and overall not the type of book I like to read.

Had to force myself to finish this, even though the ending was clear right from the introduction of the characters.

That being said: I DID finish it. So there are worse books around (that I could never finish because the stupid hurt too much)
