Marcel Proust: In Search of Lost Time (2003, Modern Library)

Monty Python paid hommage to Proust's novel in a sketch first broadcast on November 16th, …

I resumed my reading of this at the start of this week; at my bookmark which was then at vol 6 p 298. I hate the new English title and am glad Penguin used the old title again (Remembrance of Things Past). I read the first one-and-a-half volume in that classic English translation then switched to Swedish. Looking up specific passages in French every now and then, thanks to Gutenberg. I actually don't like the book that much; I loved it until I found out that there are some indication that Proust IRL might've been almost as much of an abusive jerk as his eponymous narrator. It just affects how I feel when reading the book 🤷🏻‍♀️
