A delightful book that I could easily recommend to anyone if it were maybe two hundred pages shorter. As it stands I recommend it to any reader who is not scared off by 850 pages.

Nice book.

So, I'm a big burly man (who hasn't lifted since high school) and this book is written by a woman and feels mostly directed towards women, specifically ones who struggle with, like, feeling like they need to be runners with runner's physiques. There was a bit of this book that I felt like I had to just sympathize with, rather than really empathizing. That said, Casey has me looking to figure out how to fit lifting back in my life in my 30s in earnest, which I suppose the author would call a success. Good read.

Wonderful Read

Really enjoyed this little book and it's second half. These two novellas felt far more connected to me than a book and it's sequel, and it's odd to me that they're bound and sold as two different books. Priced as two books, as well. Recommended read, though I wish they'd sell the two books bound together for something closer to $15-20

Not enough plot

Didn't enjoy as much as Red Team Blues, it felt less like a story and more like a travel book for an imagined future version of socal. RTB obviously had something to say about crypto, and the author's perspective is clear, but it had enough of a thriller plot to drive the story on it's own merits. I got bored with this plot halfway through and felt like I had seen enough of the author's social ideas that I didn't feel bad just letting this one go. Not a bad book at all, I just have a ton of others to read.

Really really enjoyed my time with these characters and the little plot that it had. There's some conflict but not a lot. Made me ask my wife in earnest if we should open a used book store. Eagerly looking forward to reading the next one.

Important Book for Me

The author, himself a crossdresser, discussing gender roles as a series of costumes that fit some men well, more men just ok, and many men not at all, has become a central metaphor for me while working with young men. Fun and quick read for any man who is questioning the categories he was given for what masculinity means.

Fair Enough Summary of Protestant Theology

Well written introductory book from a Wesleyan perspective, the next edition should jettison the notebook paper and marker aesthetic. It's not a book written exclusively for teenagers, and the included art and layout are unfairly pigeonholing it.

This is my first @pluralistic@mamot.fr book, and I decided to support the Kickstarter campaign after seeing it on Mastodon. Enjoying the first chapter! Set up for a great thriller, may require some technical knowledge/literacy on the basics of penetration testing, cryptography, cryptocurrency, and silicon valley jargon eg VC, Angel, Unicorn etc.
Sam D finished reading The Three-Body Problem by Cixin Liu
One of those books you stay up late reading. For one reason or another, it doesn’t feel like a 400 pg book. I wish I could say more but I’m too excited to read the next one. The Three Body Problem is slated for a Netflix series adaptation and I will say that this seems like a bad idea. Demands on the reader re: literacy in university-level physics are not insignificant, if large parts of the motivation and justification for events is to be understood. It’s not impenetrable, but as a science fan and moderately conversant person in science, broadly, I felt as though my ability to follow was challenged, if not outpaced. I did drop out of uni on 5 separate occasions, though, so maybe I’m less conversant than I thought. Strongly recommended.
