Kathryn Yusoff offers a new way to consider this beginning, by considering beginnings more deeply. Each chapter proffers another start-point for colonial violence, and each time it is both valid and invalid. The book draws from different theorists, prominently Moten and Harney, in a well considered and short study of colonial violence toward nonwhite people. Brilliantly written, compelling, and very sad.

Zwischendurch immer mal wieder etwas ermüdend aber insgesamt schon genau die Dichte an nischigem Rumgenerde die mein Gehirn zum fröhlichen Brummen bringt, und gut genug in eine Geschichte verpackt um zu unterhalten. Irgendwie auch politisch, aber so in Grundsatzfragen verstrickt dass man (=ich) nicht so direkt versteht worauf es hinauswill. Schön fand ich dass am Ende noch mal ein bisschen die Entstehung des Buches erzählt wird und alle Quellen aufgelistet werden, sodass ich das nischige Rumgenerde fortsetzen kann.
